Dr. Reed is a pediatric hematologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Boston Children’s Hospital, where she recently completed her fellowship training. She received her MD from the University of Pennsylvania and completed internal medicine/pediatrics residency at Baylor College of Medicine. Under the mentorship of Dr. Akiko Shimamura and Dr. Suneet Agarwal, her research seeks to unravel the underlying genetics and malignancy risk in inherited bone marrow failure syndromes. Given the general limited therapy options for individuals with these syndromes, she is dedicated to clinical trial development and is currently leading an early phase clinical trial investigating thymidine therapy in patients with telomere biology disorders. In addition to her research pursuits, Dr. Reed is passionate about the clinical care of individuals inherited bone marrow failure syndromes and sees patients in the Dana-Farber Bone Marrow Failure Clinic and the Boston Children’s Hospital Hematology Clinic. Outside of the lab and the clinic, she enjoys getting away from the city and spending time in the mountains skiing, hiking, and fishing.
