Beyond The Trophy: Get to know Maryland Chapter President and quarterback Eric Najarian
Each week during the college football season we will feature a player who is an officer of an Uplifting Athletes Chapter for our Beyond the Trophy series.

Junior QB No. 22 from Crofton, Md.
Get To Know Eric Najarian: Eric volunteered to become a chapter leader in 2021. He attended the virtual Leadership Development Conference in early 2021 to prepare for the upcoming year and played a key and instrumental role helping the Maryland Chapter continue its mission to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope by holding a Lift For Life during the summer. The third-year quarterback saw his first action in 2020, coming into the Rutgers game in the second quarter. He threw for 218 yards and a pair of touchdowns in leading Maryland to 21 second-half points. Has two brothers that are Terps: Kyle, currently a junior and Tyler, Class of 2018.
What is your most memorable experience as a college football player?
NAJARIAN: Getting into a game for the first time against Rutgers last season and throwing two touchdowns.
What drove you to get involved with Uplifting Athletes?
NAJARIAN: I love the mission of the organization, so when the former chapter presidents left, I wanted to continue it at Maryland.
Who is your favorite NFL player and why?
NAJARIAN: Tom Brady because he was continually doubted in his career but has gone on to become the most accomplished player of all time.
If you could play another sport, what would it be and why?
NAJARIAN: Golf because I still love to play it, I’m just not very good.
